The General Syndicate of Owners of Trade and Jewelry Shops has reaffirmed its exclusive role in issuing and declaring the official gold pricing in Jordan, noting that this responsibility is explicitly outlined in the regulations set forth by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply. Speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the president of the Syndicate Rebhi Allan explained that the local gold pricing is derived from the global market price, supplemented by import fees, stamp duty charges, and fixed differentials known among industry specialists. Allan emphasized that any claim from websites or stores purporting to provide international gold pricing is “misleading” and erroneous, in direct violation of the official regulations that grant the Syndicate the exclusive authority to determine the daily gold pricing across the country. He further clarified that international gold pricing can only be accessed through reputable global exchanges and established international importers, who apply the relevant fees in accordance with their procedures. The Syndicate’s assertion of its unique role in establishing the official gold pricing reinforces transparency and safeguards consumer interests in the gold and jewelry market. By adhering to the regulations set by the Ministry of Industry, the Syndicate ensures fair and reliable pricing for customers, maintaining the integrity of the industry as a whole.
