Jazan: The 21st Mango and Tropical Fruits Festival in Jazan Region will commence on Wednesday, organized by the local branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) in cooperation with Sabya Governorate and various partners.

According to Saudi Press Agency, since its launch in May 2005, the festival-Jazan's oldest agricultural event-has been instrumental in promoting mangoes and tropical fruits cultivation. Over the past two decades, it has played a vital role in raising public awareness, supporting local farmers, and fostering social and economic development across the region. This year, the ministry has intensified its efforts to ensure the annual celebration's continued success.

Director General of MEWA's Jazan branch Mohammed Al Atif noted that the festival serves as an annual platform for farmers and entrepreneurs to market their crops and products and expand their customer base. Jazan Region boasts over 3,360,000 tropical fruit trees, including mangos, figs, bananas, guavas, and papayas, with an annual production of 123,311 tons.
