Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries Partners with China’s Shandong Shijichun Foodstuff

Jazan: The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) announced that Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Shandong Shijichun Foodstuff Co., Ltd. This agreement is aimed at supporting the development of the food industries sector and facilitating the company's investments within the city.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the signing took place during the Saudi-Chinese Business Forum in Beijing, coinciding with the official visit of Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfadley. The visit is focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation across the sectors of environment, water, and food production. Additionally, the visit seeks to explore opportunities for expanding exports and promoting Saudi products in Chinese markets.

The investment by Shandong Shijichun Foodstuff is set to exceed SAR100 million. It includes plans to construct a meat and poultry processing facility in Jazan's 'Animal Protein City.' The facility is anticipated to achieve an annual export volume surpassing 50,000 tons.

The project aligns with the city's objectives to expand the food industry and pursue sustainable development. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to attract transformative industries to the region.
