Italy Affirms Position Regarding Palestinian Issue

Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, reaffirmed his country’s steadfast position on the Palestinian issue, which is based on the principle of two states for two peoples. He expressed Italy’s continued support for Palestine and its commitment to strengthening Palestinian institutions.

This statement came during a meeting today between the Italian Foreign Minister and his Palestinian counterpart, Riyad Al Maliki, who is currently visiting Rome.

During the meeting, Al Maliki briefed his Italian counterpart on the latest developments in Palestine and the suffering endured by the Palestinian people due to the ongoing violations by Israeli occupation forces and settlers. He highlighted the killings, destruction, and burning of Palestinian cities and villages, as well as the recent aggression on Jenin, which resulted in casualties, injuries, infrastructure destruction, and the displacement of thousands of families. Al Maliki emphasized that if such practices are not stopped, similar scenes will be repeated in other Palestinian cities. He urged Italy to intervene to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control.
