Makkah: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has introduced a video call service to address inquiries from Umrah performers and visitors during the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative is managed by the General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness in Hajj, Umrah, and Visitation and is a component of the ministry's strategic plan for the current 1447 AH season, alongside its ongoing outreach programs in Makkah.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the newly launched service utilizes smart devices to facilitate live audio and video communication between the questioners and a team of sheikhs, preachers, and translators. This team is capable of providing answers in over 40 languages, covering topics such as Umrah rites, Ramadan rulings, i'tikaf, and various acts of worship and transactions.
The service is accessible at multiple locations including Masjid Al-Taneem, prayer halls in hotels surrounding the Grand Mosque, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Baz Mosque, and Aisha Al-Rajhi Mosque in the Al-Naseem neighborhood. The ministry emphasized that these strategic locations are selected to ensure the service is available to the broadest possible audience of Umrah performers and visitors.
