Abuja: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance concluded yesterday the second training program for imams, preachers, scholars, and graduates of Saudi universities in Abuja. The course was organized by the ministry, represented by the Religious Attach© Office in Abuja, in cooperation with the Committee of Imams and Preachers in Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory. The program saw the participation of several prominent Islamic and official figures and witnessed strong engagement from attendees.
According to Saudi Press Agency, over the five-day program, participants studied key religious texts including The Belief of the Imams of Hadith and The Correct Creed and What Contradicts It. The program also featured a guidance seminar focusing on effective methods of preaching, the importance of kindness, spreading beneficial knowledge, upholding the methodology of Ahl as-Sunnah Wa'l Jama'ah, and promoting the values of moderation and balance.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by Charg© d'Affaires Saeed Al-Qahtani, Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria Faisal Alghamdi expressed gratitude to the Kingdom's wise leadership for its continuous support of religious and humanitarian efforts around the world.
He highlighted the Kingdom's initiatives in Nigeria during 2025, including a medical campaign to combat eye diseases that provided over 218,000 surgeries and examinations, helping more than 21,000 beneficiaries restore their sight, in addition to distributing over 45,000 prescription glasses and 100 tons of dates. He emphasized that the course plays a vital role in advancing dawah efforts and promoting a moderate Islamic approach.
Several participants expressed appreciation for the Kingdom's significant efforts in serving Islam and Muslims, spreading correct Islamic beliefs, and advancing the principles of tolerance and moderation. They praised the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for its commitment to delivering impactful scientific programs and dawah initiatives.
This course is part of a broader series of educational programs implemented by the ministry abroad, aimed at promoting Islamic scholarship, strengthening the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah, and reinforcing moderate religious awareness.
