Baku: Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) President Dr. Muhammad Al-Jasser held talks Wednesday with Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev during the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Jasser praised Azerbaijan’s organization of the conference and the country’s leadership in facilitating decisive climate finance negotiations. He reiterated IsDB’s dedication to bolstering climate objectives with over US$5.5 billion in climate financing since COP27 in 2022.
He emphasized IsDB’s alignment with the ambitious objectives and efforts of COP29, endorsing the presidency’s initiatives from the outset regarding human development, digitization, and the Declaration on Water for Climate Action.
