IsDB Chairman Meets IMF Managing Director to Discuss Economic Resilience and Development

Jeddah: Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser met in Jeddah today with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva and her accompanying delegation. The meeting addressed economic resilience, sustainable development, and global financial stability. Discussions focused on enhancing coordination on the economic priorities of member states, strengthening cooperation, and developing solutions for post-conflict economies.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Al Jasser emphasized the importance of deeper engagement between their institutions to support economic stability across various regions. He also underscored the need for proactive and adaptive strategies to tackle shared challenges, including economic fragmentation, demographic shifts, and digital transformation in emerging markets.

Additionally, the meeting covered the Joint Islamic Finance Report 2025, a collaborative initiative between the IsDB and the IMF. The report aims to assess the role of Islamic finance in global markets, address regulatory challenges, and explore its potential in promoting financial inclusion and stability.
