Riyadh: The National Infrastructure Fund (Infra) and JPMorgan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly pursue structured financing solutions for Saudi infrastructure. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Economy and Planning and Chairman of the National Infrastructure Fund Faisal Alibrahim, and Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Jamie Dimon.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the MoU establishes a framework for co-investment in Saudi infrastructure priorities by Infra and JPMorgan. A planned risk-sharing framework will enable JPMorgan to increase the value of its senior financing for greenfield infrastructure projects, thereby extending the bank's strategic presence in the Saudi market.
Infra's press release highlights its role in devising innovative solutions to expand and diversify financing sources for the Kingdom's infrastructure market. Infra's planned subordinated financing role will drive high additionality outcomes, build market depth, and support the scaling of foreign and institutional financing.
Infra CEO Eng. Esmail Alsallom commented: 'Today's MoU signals an exciting partnership between Infra and JPMorgan. Managing Director and Senior Country Officer of JPMorgan - Saudi Arabia and Bahrain Bader Al Amoudi - stated that: 'Our collaboration with Infra builds on the recent launch of JPMorgan's regional HQ in Riyadh. It highlights the bank's ability to leverage market-leading structuring and financing capabilities in support of the transformative ambition of Saudi Vision 2030.'
The MoU reflects Infra's mandate to act as a catalyst for private and institutional participation in Saudi infrastructure, helping expand the Kingdom's access to diversified, sustainable capital and reinforcing its position as a leading destination for global infrastructure investment.
