Industry Minister Concludes Official Visit to Kazakhstan Focused on Mining and Industrial Partnerships

Astana: Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef has concluded an official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, where he was accompanied by Vice Industry Minister for Mining Affairs Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer. The visit involved participation in the Astana Mining and Metallurgy Congress (AMM) and discussions to boost economic relations and expand investment partnerships in the industrial and mining sectors.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the visit included a series of bilateral meetings with senior Kazakh government officials, including the prime minister, deputy prime minister and minister of artificial intelligence and digital development, minister of foreign affairs, minister of industry and construction, and the governor of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC). These meetings explored opportunities to enhance cooperation in the industrial and mining sectors.

Alkhorayef also engaged with leaders from prominent Kazakh mining and minerals companies, such as Tau-Ken Samruk, KAZ Minerals, and Kazatomprom. Discussions centered around potential partnerships in strategic minerals and rare earth elements, along with mineral exploration prospects.

The minister took part in a high-level panel discussion on global partnerships and the future of the mining and minerals sector during the AMM. Additionally, he toured the gold refinery operated by Tau-Ken Altyn, reviewing the latest technologies in gold processing and refining. His visit to the AIFC included a briefing on its services and capabilities in supporting the investment and financial environment.

The visit culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan, aimed at enhancing cooperation in the mining and mineral resources sector.
