Copenhagen: Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef concluded his official visit to Denmark, marking a significant milestone in the economic partnership between the two countries. The visit focused on strengthening cooperation in the industrial and mining sectors, while exploring new investment opportunities in key industries, aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during the two-day visit, Alkhorayef held high-level meetings with Danish government officials and industrial leaders to discuss avenues for collaboration in key non-oil sectors such as pharmaceuticals, green technology, sustainable energy, food production, and advanced machinery.
The visit also included a ministerial meeting between Alkhorayef and Denmark's Minister for Economic Affairs Stephanie Lose, where they discussed advancing policy coordination, promoting industrial development, and strengthening investment ties.
To boost private-sector engagement in the Kingdom, Alkhorayef met with officials from the Danish Chamber of Commerce, Vestas, and European Energy, focusing on expanding trade relations, knowledge exchange, and identifying mutually beneficial investment pathways.
He also chaired a roundtable that convened senior officials from leading Danish companies to explore opportunities for industrial collaboration.
The visit also included a series of separate meetings with leaders of prominent Danish companies, including Novonesis, Arla Foods, Danfoss, FLSmidth, and Novo Holdings. The discussions centered on strengthening commercial partnerships in sectors identified under Saudi Arabia's National Industrial Strategy.
Alkhorayef toured the Novo Nordisk campus to explore its advanced insulin and biopharmaceutical manufacturing technologies, and also visited the DTU Science Park, where he examined research and innovation units, key industrial research projects, and leading solutions to advance innovation in the industrial sector.
The visit concluded with a meeting between Alkhorayef and Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Gerd Mller. The two officials discussed enhancing the strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and the organization, as well as the ongoing preparations to host the 21st UNIDO General Conference in Riyadh this November.
Alkhorayef's official visit aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the national economy and transform Saudi Arabia into a leading industrial power and a global hub for mining and minerals. This will be realized by enhancing international partnerships, exchanging expertise, transferring technology, and attracting high-quality investments to localize several strategic industries vital for the Kingdom's health and food security.
