Industry Minister and UNIDO Director-General Discuss Strategic Partnership in Copenhagen

Copenhagen: Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef met in Copenhagen with United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Director-General Gerd Mller to discuss enhancing cooperation. The meeting focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and UNIDO to advance sustainable industrial development goals.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions included preparations for Saudi Arabia's hosting of the 21st session of the UNIDO General Conference, which is scheduled to take place in Riyadh this November. The meeting highlighted the close cooperation between Saudi Arabia and UNIDO in promoting comprehensive and sustainable industrial development.

The officials reviewed three major agreements that both parties plan to conclude. These agreements comprise hosting the 21st UNIDO General Conference, establishing a UNIDO regional office in Saudi Arabia, and a basic cooperation agreement to strengthen long-term partnerships in key industrial sectors.

Hosting the UNIDO General Conference is seen as a move to reinforce Saudi Arabia's position as a regional industrial hub that supports dialogue and leads industrial policies. It underscores the Kingdom's commitment to working with international organizations towards sustainable industrial development.
