C³rdoba: The International Dates Council (IDC), represented by its Executive Director Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz, took part in the 122nd Session of the International Olive Council (IOC) in C³rdoba, Spain. The session, attended by representatives from 45 countries, coincided with World Olive Day and marked the launch of the "C³rdoba Declaration."
According to Saudi Press Agency, the IDC's involvement underscores its dedication to fostering international collaboration and sharing expertise with global agricultural organizations, particularly the IOC. The IOC is widely recognized as a leading authority in sector governance and value-chain development.
During the session, the IDC delegation examined the processes involved in IOC member meetings, the operations of specialized committees, and the procedures for presenting budgets, financial reports, and adopting decisions. This participation aims to enhance institutional practices within the IDC and bolster its sustainability goals.
As part of the World Olive Day celebrations, which featured the unveiling of the "C³rdoba Declaration," Princess Sarah delivered a statement underscoring the declaration's importance in promoting international cooperation and sustainable development. She reaffirmed the IDC's commitment to adopting international best practices to advance the dates sector, highlighting the robust support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the IDC's host country.
Princess Sarah engaged in a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event with ministers and officials from Spain, Tunisia, Iran, Morocco, and Pakistan. She also met with Arab ambassadors accredited to Spain and the Saudi Ambassador to Spain, Princess Haifa bint Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf Al Muqrin, at the Arab League Mission headquarters in Madrid.
Additionally, Princess Sarah held discussions with several international delegations, including those from the Syrian Arab Republic, the European Union, and Georgia, as part of efforts to enhance international engagement and expand multilateral partnerships.
