Hungary Postpones Vote for Sweden’s Accession to NATO

General

Hungary has postponed the ratification of Sweden’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) after representatives of Fidesz ruling party boycotted an extraordinary meeting called by the opposition parties to ratify the Scandinavia country’s accession to NATO. The legislative session was postponed on Monday due to absence of members of Fidesz party.

Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office Gergely Gulyas told journalists last week that the parliament might approve Sweden’s accession to NATO in autumn.
