Human Resources Ministry Strengthens Labor Market Readiness for Hajj Season 1446 AH

General

Riyadh: The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has introduced new regulations for temporary work visas to strengthen labor market readiness for the 1446 AH Hajj season, aiming to meet the needs of private sector businesses involved in Hajj and Umrah services and enhance operational efficiency throughout the season.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this initiative is based on the updated regulations for temporary work visas and employment in Hajj and Umrah services, recently approved by the Cabinet. The updates include renaming the seasonal work visa to "temporary work visa for Hajj and Umrah services" to clarify its scope, as well as integrating Umrah services into the regulation.

The amendments include extending the grace period for issuing visas, which will now run from Sha'ban 15 until the end of Muharram each year. Additionally, applicants must submit a signed copy of the employment contract, along with medical insurance and other basic requirements, before the visa can be issued by the Kingdom's diplomatic missions abroad.

These regulations help accredited establishments enhance their ability to provide Hajj and Umrah services while improving service quality for pilgrims, in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
