Jeddah: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held today in Jeddah. HRH the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on his recent engagements with King Abdullah II of Jordan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Cabinet commended the outcomes of the second meeting of the Saudi-Indian Strategic Partnership Council, highlighting the expanding economic, trade, and investment relations between the two nations. The Cabinet also emphasized ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors. Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary conveyed that the Cabinet reviewed the Kingdom's extensive participation in regional and international forums, reaffirming its commitment to collaborative efforts aimed at global stability and prosperity.
The Cabinet stressed the importance of resolving the Palestinian cause to achieve security in the Middle East. It called for a just and comprehensive resolution consistent with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, envisioning an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Cabinet reiterated its commitment to the economic recovery of Syria, urging regional and international financial institutions to support Syria's aspirations for a brighter future. Domestically, the Cabinet expressed appreciation for the achievements of Saudi Vision 2030 as it approaches its ninth year, noting significant progress with 93% of targets met or exceeded. The Cabinet anticipates continued success in the upcoming third phase of Vision 2030, set for 2026.
In other discussions, the outcomes of the recent Saudi Statistics Forum were commended, recognizing advancements in the statistical sector's role in sustainable development. The Cabinet also acknowledged HRH the Crown Prince's SAR1 billion donation to the National Development Housing Foundation, reflecting his dedication to housing initiatives for citizens.
The Cabinet addressed various agenda items and issued several decisions, including the approval of a Host Country Agreement with INTERPOL to establish a regional office, and multiple memorandums of understanding with nations such as South Korea, Jordan, Zambia, India, Bahrain, Morocco, Egypt, and China, covering areas from city management to meteorology.
