Riyadh: Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel today participated in a ministerial session during the fifth edition of the Hajj Conference and Exhibition, where he highlighted the healthcare system's efforts to ensure that pilgrims receive medical services in line with the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program under Saudi Vision 2030, aimed at providing a safe and seamless pilgrimage experience.
According to Saudi Press Agency, AlJalajel, speaking during the session titled 'From Vision to Reality: Integrated Sectors in Serving Pilgrims,' alongside several other ministers, said that the health system works in close coordination with entities to safeguard the wellbeing of pilgrims throughout their journey, from their home countries to their safe return.
He underscored the importance of the 'health eligibility' requirement for obtaining a Hajj visa, ensuring that pilgrims are medically fit to perform the rituals safely and comfortably. He also pointed to the use of advanced technologies and proactive readiness measures, including spatial analytics and real-time data, to monitor and protect pilgrims' health throughout the season.
The minister noted that preventive measures include updating vaccination requirements annually based on health risks in pilgrims' countries and addressing climatic challenges such as high temperatures through coordinated efforts to prevent heat stress.
AlJalajel reaffirmed that the health and safety of pilgrims remain a priority, stressing that all relevant entities mobilize their capabilities to guarantee a safe and healthy Hajj, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to the care and wellbeing of pilgrims.
