Hajj Efforts: Ministry of Islamic Affairs Broadcasts 34 Million Messages and Hosts 10,000 Activities During Tarwiyah and Arafah

Mina: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance intensified its field and digital awareness efforts during the days of Tarwiyah and Arafah, as part of its comprehensive plan to serve the Guests of God. More than 10,000 awareness activities were implemented, including guiding speeches, lectures, and seminars, in mosques and campaign sites in Mina and Arafat, with the aim of raising religious awareness and enhancing Sharia concepts among pilgrims.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Ministry broadcast more than 34 million text messages (SMS) to pilgrims' phones via telecommunications networks, containing simplified Sharia content in seven languages, contributing to facilitating the performance of rituals and spreading awareness among pilgrims.

The Ministry deployed 20 awareness booths in various locations in Arafat and Mina, including six booths near Jabal al-Rahmah, three at Namirah Mosque, and eleven in Mina. More than 330,000 copies of translated religious books and brochures were distributed, which deal with the provisions of Hajj and its fatwas.

Within the remote guidance services, the Ministry activated the direct visual communication service with preachers in Arafat and Mina, and received more than 110,000 phone calls via free phone booths and mobile devices, which were answered by a group of qualified scholars and preachers, from their places of residence in the regions of the Kingdom, within the framework of benefiting from modern technology to expand the circle of religious fatwas, in addition to activating 350 electronic screens in the holy sites, through which more than 1.5 million awareness and guidance messages were broadcast in multiple languages.

The Ministry will continue its awareness-raising efforts for the remaining days of Hajj, complementing its field and digital programs to serve the Guests of God and enable them to perform their rituals in an atmosphere of security, tranquility, and reassurance.
