Gov’t keen on attracting investments to car industry: Trade min

Minister of Trade Nivine Gamea asserted the keenness of her ministry to activate the efforts adopted by Egypt to promote the national manufacturing of cars.

The efforts aim at putting Egypt on the map of manufacturing and exporting cars internationally to attract more investment to the sector of car industry to contribute to deepening it in the country.

This came during Gamea’s video conference meeting with Senior Vice President and Chairman of Nissan in Africa and Middle East Guillaume Cartier and a number of the officials of the company.

The meeting tackled the current projects of the company and the expansion plans in the Egyptian market during the coming stage.

Gamea said that Nissan Motor Corporation Global is a strategic partner to the Egyptian state in the field of car industry, pointing out that the government is keen on benefiting from the major expertise of the company in localizing the car industry in Egypt.

Meanwhile, Cartier asserted the keenness of the company to expand in the Egyptian market as it is one of the most important markets in the Middle East and Africa.
