Eastern region: The General Directorate of Passports has begun using electric scooters for passport personnel at the King Fahd Causeway crossing in the Eastern Region. This initiative aims to improve the quality of services provided to travelers, assist older travelers and people with disabilities, facilitate travel procedures, regulate vehicle movement through travel lanes and gates in the passport area at the crossing, and enable a swift response in cases requiring rapid movement and handling.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the introduction of electric scooters is part of the smart solutions implemented by the directorate to enhance and enrich the traveler experience. These scooters are intended to improve operational speed and responsiveness, ensuring that procedures are completed smoothly and easily. This initiative is also in preparation for equipping all of Saudi Arabia's ports with these scooters, marking a significant step towards modernizing and streamlining border crossing processes across the country.
