General Court of Audit Engages in INTOSAI Standards Committee Meeting

Luxembourg: The General Court of Audit, represented by Vice President of Financial Audit and Compliance Lama Alhammadi, took part in the 27th Steering Meeting of the Professional Standards Committee of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI). The event was held in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, bringing together senior representatives from various supreme audit institutions and international organizations.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting included representatives from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the World Bank, and the International Federation of Accountants. Several discussion panels were convened to contribute to the creation of the committee's work plan for the 2026-2028 period. Key topics included the challenges of implementing international standards for supreme audit institutions, the role of AI and technology in auditing, and best practices in applying sustainability reporting. Participants also deliberated on INTOSAI's strategic development plan, aimed at enhancing the quality of public sector auditing on a global scale.

Alhammadi emphasized the court's initiatives to foster and develop professional capacities among its staff to ensure audit work is conducted in line with best practices and advanced methodologies. These initiatives are consistent with INTOSAI's Framework of Professional Pronouncements and the standards set by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board.

This engagement underscores the General Court of Audit's dedication to sharing its expertise with peer institutions worldwide and bolstering its role within international and regional organizations for supreme audit institutions.
