The General Authority for Awqaf (GAA) announced the registration of over 11,000 endowments and the provision of more than 30,000 related processing services for beneficiaries, as well as the issuance of over 9,000 national number (700) certificates, through the third quarter (Q3) of 2024. These services were made available through the GAA's online platform, aiming to preserve endowments, enhance their governance, and facilitate the endowment process, all aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to enhance the role of the endowments sector in achieving comprehensive and sustainable development. Through its endowment registration service, the authority aims to incentivize donors and endowment trustees, empowering them to issue legal identity for endowments with a national number (700). This enables beneficiaries to avail themselves of digital services and transactions provided by government and private entities and strengthens the legal identity of endowments, ensuring their sustainability and developme nt for the benefit of the community. Additionally, the service provides an official endowment certificate to safeguard the rights of the donor and the endowment, and it facilitates the opening of a bank account for the endowment to enable financial transactions. This enhances the endowment experience and saves time and effort for beneficiaries, ultimately contributing to achieving the objectives for which the endowment was established and ensuring adherence to the donor's conditions. The authority is committed to ensuring that all registration requirements are met and compliant with regulations before issuing an endowment certificate. The General Authority for Awqaf launched its online endowment registration service in early 2020, aiming to establish a comprehensive database of all registered endowments, enhance the endowment user experience, improve the quality of services provided, and save time and effort for beneficiaries.
