GCC Secretary-General Meets Australian Ambassador to Discuss Bilateral Relations

Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi received Ambassador of Australia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Miles Armitage today at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh. During the meeting, officials discussed several topics, including ways to develop and enhance GCC-Australian relations to serve common interests.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Secretary-General praised Australia's role in supporting peace and stability and promoting international cooperation. He welcomed Australia's decision to move towards recognizing the State of Palestine during the United Nations General Assembly meetings in September, in line with international efforts to find a just settlement to the Palestinian cause.

Moreover, both sides emphasized the importance of developing economic, commercial, and educational cooperation between the GCC and Australia. They also exchanged views on current regional and international events.
