Kuwait City: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi affirmed that the GCC countries hold a prominent position on the regional and international media landscape, attributing this achievement to the guidance of their leaders, who have placed strong emphasis on advancing media efforts in the Gulf.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this affirmation was made during a speech at the 28th meeting of the committee of ministers of information of the GCC countries, held in the State of Kuwait. Albudaiwi emphasized that the leaders of the GCC countries consistently highlight the importance of developing and empowering the media as a constructive force that supports regional unity, promotes shared causes, and projects a positive and realistic image of the GCC's progress.
In light of rapid global media and technological transformations, he stressed the need to keep pace by enhancing integration and cooperation among Gulf media institutions and building strategic partnerships with leading regional and international media platforms. He highlighted the media challenges currently facing the GCC countries, which demand greater integration and cooperation, particularly in light of the systematic misinformation efforts aimed at undermining the security of the GCC and the cohesion of their societies.
