Gabonese President Appoints New Vice President and Forms Government

Gabon: Gabonese President General Brice Oligui Nguema today appointed Seraphin Moundounga as the country's vice president and Alexandre Barro Chambrier as the vice president of the government. The appointment marks a significant change in Gabon's political structure, especially with the abolition of the prime minister position under the new constitution.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Nguema, who assumed the presidency on Saturday, has established a new government comprising 30 members, a reduction from the previous 35-member administration. This newly formed government includes 10 women, accounting for 30% of its composition, reflecting a step towards gender representation in Gabon's political framework.
