Taif: The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in Taif Governorate briefed experts from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on key issues related to the development of the Taif rose sector, considered a vital agricultural product as well as an important cultural and tourism symbol of the region.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting was attended by national expert Dr. Salih Bazaid and Turkish international expert Dr. Reyhan Bahtiyarca. The discussions focused on a proposal to establish a nursery for propagating selected, high-yielding rose seedlings with resistance to diseases and pests, which could be distributed to farmers. Additionally, the meeting explored the establishment of an integrated garden comprising Taif roses and farms for seasonal Taif fruits.
