The European Union Thursday reiterated its rejection of the burning of the Quran as a “reckless act” saying it benefits those who want to divide the European society.
“Sweden and Denmark have been extremely clear in rejecting such reckless acts that are conducted by individual provocateurs which only benefits those who want to divide our society,” EU spokesperson for foreign affairs and security policy, Nabila Massrali, told a press conference in Brussels.
Replying to a question by Kuwait news agency, (KUNA) she stated that the “EU rejects (such) reckless acts” and that the European Commission is in contact with the EU member states on this issue.
Meanwhile, media reports said another Quran burning is set to take place in Sweden on Thursday.
