Eastern Region Hosts Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Conference


Riyadh: Governor of Eastern Region Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz today sponsored the Second Saudi Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Conference 2025 (2nd SMSC and Neuroimmunology). Organized by the Arfa Multiple Sclerosis Society in collaboration with the Ministry of Health’s regional branch, the event coincided with World Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Day.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the conference, a documentary featuring a dedicated 91-year-old physician from the Eastern Region with over 62 years of service was showcased. Prince Saud honored the doctor for his significant contributions to the region.

Conference President Dr. Foziah Al-Shamarani highlighted the Kingdom’s medical sector progress showcased at the event, focusing on advanced methods for diagnosing and treating multiple sclerosis. The conference also included a medical exhibition with leading pharmaceutical companies.

In his address, Director General of the Ministry of Health branch in the Eastern Region, Dr. Fares Alhammzani
emphasized the Kingdom’s advancements in the health and medical fields, keeping pace with the newest treatment approaches for MS. He emphasized the conference’s role in advancing research efforts, supporting the national health system, and aligning with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
