Director of Islamic Affairs Highlights Quran Competition’s Role in Enhancing Saudi-Sri Lankan Relations

Colombo: Director of the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs at the Sri Lankan Ministry of Religious Affairs Mohamed Nawas bin Mohamed Sali stated that the second national Quran memorization competition in Sri Lanka provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in matters that serve Islam, Muslims, and the Holy Quran. According to Saudi Press Agency, his remarks were made in a press statement on the occasion of the final round of the second national Quran memorization competition, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance in collaboration with the Saudi Embassy in Sri Lanka. This initiative is part of the Kingdom's efforts to support Quranic activities both locally and internationally. He also noted that the competition saw wide participation from various provinces in Sri Lanka, representing a message of brotherhood from the Kingdom, its leadership, and its people to the Muslims of Sri Lanka.
