Riyadh: Trainees are focusing on various modern technology tracks as part of the Digital Manufacturing Summer Camp 2025. The camp, held at the Riyadh College of Technology, is a partnership with the Saudi Federation for Robotics and RC Sports.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the camp aims to equip 100 trainees with skills essential for the fourth industrial revolution, specifically in robotics, the internet of things (IoT), and digital manufacturing. Specialized training programs combine theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing participants for the job market and competition in technology entrepreneurship.
In the robotics workshop, 44 male and female trainees received hands-on training in building and programming robots using VEX Robotics.
In the Digital Manufacturing and Applications workshop, 34 trainees learned about the components and operating systems of 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC machines. They also gained practical experience designing 2D and 3D models using professional software, showcasing digital technologies' broad applications in daily life.
Finally, 22 male and female trainees participated in the IoT technology workshop. They received practical explanations on how to connect various sensors and devices to the internet and control them remotely. The workshop also covered advanced IoT applications in modern digital contexts, highlighting IoT as a promising specialization that combines direct device interaction with programming and is experiencing increasing demand due to its rapid development.
