Riyadh: Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) Secretary-General Deemah AlYahya has received Syria's Minister of Communications and Technology Abdel Salam Heikal at the DCO's headquarters.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting emphasized the significance of sharing best practices and expertise between DCO member states and the Syrian Arab Republic. Discussions included the DCO's strategy to support its member states and enhance Syria's connection to a global network of digital stakeholders.
The DCO expressed its readiness to assist Syria in its digital transformation journey and acknowledged the country's efforts towards economic openness. The organization highlighted the crucial role of partnerships in attracting investments and reducing the digital divide through initiatives such as Digital Foreign Direct Investment (DFDI).
Secretary-General AlYahya affirmed the DCO's commitment to supporting digital transformation in the region and fostering a sustainable ecosystem that empowers individuals and entrepreneurs. She emphasized that dialogue and cooperation with countries like Syria are essential to achieving the organization's mission of enabling digital prosperity for all.
