Riyadh: The Ministry of Culture and the Cultural Development Fund (CDF) highlighted the outcomes of the Film Sector Financing Program at the Cultural Investment Conference, held at the King Fahad Cultural Center in Riyadh.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Film Sector Financing Program is a flagship national initiative launched under the IGNITE Digital Content Program and is led by the ministry in partnership with the CDF. The initiative fosters cultural investment by driving sustainable growth in the film sector and empowering the private sector through financing packages that support local content and strengthen film production in Saudi Arabia. It supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in this promising industry, which continues to attract growing interest from investors, both locally and abroad.
Since its launch, the initiative has supported and financed 20 Saudi companies in producing 32 cultural projects, with total funding of SAR93 million, alongside an additional financing commitment of SAR129 million to date. In parallel, investment commitments in the Riviera Content fund, formerly the Saudi Film Fund, have reached around SAR150 million. These strategic pledges reflect confidence in the future of the local cinema sector and reinforce the Kingdom's drive to build a sustainable cultural industry with global competitiveness.
