Riyadh: The Council of Parties of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID), comprising member states Saudi Arabia, Austria, Spain, and the Vatican as a founding observer, along with Portugal as a guest and host country, has appointed Ambassador Ant³nio de Almeida Ribeiro as Acting Secretary General of KAICIID, effective January 2025.
According to Saudi Press Agency, in his remarks, Ribeiro emphasized KAICIID's critical role in addressing global challenges by promoting peace, tolerance, and moderation through dialogue among followers of different religions and cultures worldwide. He reaffirmed the center's commitment to cooperating with international partners to advance these objectives.
Ribeiro highlighted KAICIID's accomplishments since its inception, noting its establishment as a credible international organization that fosters peace through interfaith and intercultural dialogue despite various challenges. He expressed optimism about the center's future, aiming to expand its programs and projects across different regions and to strengthen its role as a vital international organization.
He underscored KAICIID's unique approach, which unites religious leaders, policymakers, communities, and governments to uphold human dignity and advocate for the right to life, progress, and development.
