Consumer Protection Association Celebrates World Consumer Rights Day with Focus on Safety and Fair Practices

Riyadh: The Consumer Protection Association marked World Consumer Rights Day, a global occasion observed annually on March 15 to highlight the importance of strengthening consumer rights, empowering consumers, and promoting principles that ensure product safety, service quality, and fair market practices.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the association noted that recent years have witnessed significant progress in regulations, legislation, and policies related to consumer protection, enhancing product safety, improving market compliance, and developing systems of standards, metrology, and quality. These efforts have also reinforced market oversight and enabled consumers to understand and exercise their rights with awareness and confidence.

The association emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts among government entities, the private sector, and the consumer community, represented by the association, to develop a safe and fair consumer environment that contributes to improving quality of life, enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy, and supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
