Arar: Several airports under Cluster 2 Airports have achieved Carbon Accreditation from the Airports Council International (ACI) at varying levels, reflecting their commitment to environmental sustainability. Arar Airport attained Level 4+, among the highest accreditation tiers, requiring airports to adopt policies and measures to reduce absolute carbon emissions in line with international best practices. According to Saudi Press Agency, several other airports achieved Level 2, including King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan, Najran Airport, Sharurah Airport, Wadi Al-Dawasir Airport, and Al-Wajh Airport. Airports at this level are required to set emissions reduction targets and demonstrate measurable reductions in their carbon footprint. The ACI Carbon Accreditation program is a globally recognized carbon management accreditation system that independently assesses airports' efforts to manage and reduce emissions across seven progressive levels, reflecting their progress toward carbon ne utrality. These achievements reflect Cluster 2 Airports' commitment to supporting the transition toward comprehensive environmental sustainability, in line with the Saudi Civil Aviation Environmental Sustainability Program and the Saudi Green Initiative.
