Riyadh: The General Directorate of Civil Defense plays a vital role during Ramadan, ensuring the safety of the increasing number of Muslims arriving from around the world to perform Umrah and visit the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah. In response to this surge, the directorate implements comprehensive plans, preventive measures, and continuous field operations to protect worshippers and visitors around the clock.
According to Saudi Press Agency, to enhance safety, Civil Defense teams conduct intensive inspections and deploy patrols in the central areas of the two holy mosques, ensuring fire prevention systems and emergency routes are fully operational. Support forces are also stationed within the mosques to assist worshippers and respond quickly to emergencies.
Equipped with the latest firefighting and rescue tools, rapid intervention teams are deployed in high-traffic areas, prioritizing swift responses to incidents. In coordination with other emergency teams, they maintain the highest safety standards and ensure a rapid response during peak times.
Civil Defense volunteers further support by providing humanitarian and guidance services, assisting with crowd management, directing visitors, and promoting awareness of public safety measures. Their efforts help maintain a safe and spiritual atmosphere within the two holy mosques.
