Jeddah: The Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Jeddah, in cooperation with Wisdom House Chinese Language Education, hosted a ceremony to honor the winners of the second Chinese calligraphy competition. The event, organized under the theme 'Ink Conveys Emotions, Calligraphy Paints Friendship,' is a highlight of the Saudi-Chinese Cultural Year 2025.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ceremony was attended by Consul General of China in Jeddah Wang Qimin, along with several officials, academics, and individuals with an interest in the burgeoning cultural relations between Saudi Arabia and China. The competition attracted over 300 submissions from both amateur and professional calligraphers across the Kingdom, showcasing the cultural and intellectual cooperation between the two nations.
Participants' works were assessed by a specialized judging panel across youth and adult categories. The event concluded with the distribution of awards including the grand prize, first, second, and third prizes, as well as excellence awards, resulting in a total of 78 winners. Additionally, an award was given for exceptional organizational performance by educational institutions and specialized institutes.
The winning calligraphy pieces are set to be displayed in various intermediate and secondary public schools throughout the Kingdom, further promoting cultural appreciation and understanding.
