Cairo’s parks, gardens closed in Sham El-Nessim

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal on Friday ordered the officials concerned to apply all precautionary measures ahead of Sham El-Nessim and spring festival on Monday to ensure safety of citizens.

He instructed the officials to ensure that all parks and public gardens are completely closed to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

All executive bodies are put on alert in all service sectors, the governor said.

Meantime, Damietta Governor Manal Awad said all Ras el Bar beaches will still be closed during Sham El Nessim holiday, which falls on Monday, to keep crowds down in line with the prime minister’s decision with regard to limiting gatherings to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Awad said in a statement that a high state of readiness will be maintained during this period, stressing that precautionary and preventive measures will be applied, and strict action will be taken against any violations.
