Male: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) today concluded its "Building Capacity for Imams and Preachers" training program, which was held in Mal©, Maldives. The program aimed to empower religious leaders in combating extremist ideologies and enhancing community resilience.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the event was attended by Maldivian Chief of Defense Force Major-General Ibrahim Hilmy, along with several officials and representatives from relevant authorities in the Republic of Maldives. The program drew a wide range of participants, including imams and preachers, who engaged in intensive training sessions covering academic topics such as deconstructing extremist rhetoric, social influence methods, public speaking skills, and promoting moderation.
Participants expressed appreciation for the program's organization and academic depth, emphasizing the necessity of such initiatives to bolster educational and religious institutions in safeguarding communities against extremist threats. The program is part of IMCTC's strategic vision to build partnerships with member states, exchange expertise, and enhance the capabilities of preachers to address ideological challenges and maintain peace.
