Over 40 Date Varieties Featured at Al-Khabra and Riyadh Al-Khabra Festival

Riyadh: Al-Khabra and Riyadh Al-Khabra Dates Festival is experiencing robust commercial activity in the Qassim Region, coinciding with the ongoing harvest season. The festival showcases over 40 varieties of dates, with the popular Sukkari variety making up 70% of sales during the initial two weeks.

According to Saudi Press Agency, festival media committee member Fahd Al-Thunayan noted that dozens more premium varieties from local farms are expected to arrive in the coming days, highlighting the region's agricultural diversity. The festival, which runs for a month and a half, serves as a key platform for farmers, investors, and small and medium-sized enterprises. The event features dedicated sections for fruits and vegetables, as well as family entertainment.

The festival supports the palm and date value chain by offering farmers direct marketing outlets to reach traders and consumers, thereby boosting the competitiveness of local produce. Multiple government entities are participating with awareness programs and public services, supported by 60 male and female volunteers across festival facilities.
