Riyadh: Border Falcons, a falconry farm from Britain, entered the International Falcon Breeders Auction (IFBA) 2025 with an initial batch of 40 falcons. The event, organized by the Saudi Falcons Club, is currently underway at its headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh, and will run until August 25.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this year marks the farm's second participation, having entered last year with around 60 falcons, as noted by owner Jeff Armstrong. He mentioned that the 40 birds were the first shipment to arrive, with a second batch expected in the coming two days.

Armstrong explained that his delay in attending the auction was due to the young age of some birds, which were not yet ready to travel, leaving him no choice but to stay with them. He also shared plans for future auctions, intending to accompany the first batch of falcons with his wife and daughter.

He acknowledged the efforts made by the club to support participating falcon breeders, including facilitating transportation and lodging and providing continuous care for the falcons throughout the auction.

The IFBA is recognized as the largest of its kind worldwide, gathering elite falcon breeds from around the globe and serving as an annual destination for falconers and breeders. It underlines the club's role in preserving the heritage of falconry and supporting the falcon production industry, while enhancing the Kingdom's status as a global hub for falcons and falconers.
