Jeddah: Bangladesh Adviser to the Ministry of Shipping and the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Brigadier General (retired) M Sakhawat Hussain, has signed the statute of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Labor Center, headquartered in Baku, Azerbaijan. The signing ceremony took place on Sunday at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Adviser Sakhawat Hussain expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the OIC, particularly in the economic field. He reaffirmed Bangladesh's support for the organization's work and programs across various sectors. Hussain emphasized the importance of collaborating with the OIC to enhance and support the Labor Center's mission, which aims to assist member states in cooperating more effectively in the areas of labor, employment, and social security.
With this signing, Bangladesh became the 20th OIC member state to endorse the statute, marking a significant step in strengthening regional cooperation in labor and employment sectors.
