Arab Parliament Denounces Attacks on Saudi and Qatari Tankers in Strait of Hormuz

Riyadh: The Arab Parliament condemned the targeting of the Saudi tanker Wedyan while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the targeting of the Qatari tanker Al-Rekayyat, stressing that these attacks constitute a flagrant violation of international law and a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies. In a statement, Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi said that the continued attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz represent a dangerous escalation that threatens the security of international waterways, calling for the necessary measures to ensure freedom of navigation and protect commercial shipping.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Yamahi reaffirmed the Arab Parliament's position, calling for respect for international law and international conventions and for refraining from any actions that could threaten maritime security or undermine regional stability, in a manner that contributes to enhancing regional and international security and stability.
