Cairo: Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit has urged Iran to reassess its actions and rectify the strategic mistake of launching attacks on Arab countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Aboul Gheit addressed this issue during an extraordinary ministerial meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States via videoconference. He emphasized that the attacks have been condemned and rejected by both Arab governments and their citizens, highlighting how these actions violate the principles of good neighborliness and international laws. The attacks, which target civilians and facilities, pose a significant threat to the national security of Arab nations.

Aboul Gheit further explained that Arab countries have not been involved in the ongoing war and had previously expressed their opposition to using their territories and airspace for military operations. This stance was taken to prevent the region, including Iran, from suffering the repercussions of war.

In his concluding remarks, Aboul Gheit called for Iran to cease these attacks immediately and effectively. He also urged the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take necessary actions to halt Iranian aggression on Arab territories.
