The Arab League condemned Thursday the storming of Israeli Jewish settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Israeli authorities’ confiscation of the keys to the Dome of the Rock Mosque. In its statement, the pan-Arab organisation said the “repeated storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli government officials and Jewish settlers is a provocation to the feelings of Muslims and constitutes a violation of all international covenants and laws.” It warned of the consequences of this “dangerous and condemnable intrusion, which pushes the region into the furnace of religious war.” It held the Israeli authorities responsible for the repercussions of the attacks on regional peace and stability, according to the statement.
