Abidjan, Saudi Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire Saad Al-Qathami conducted an inspection tour of the lounge dedicated for the Makkah Route Initiative at Abidjan International Airport. The envoy was accompanied by Ivorian Interior and Security Minister General Vagondo Diomande, and President of the Supreme Council of Imams, Mosques, and Islamic Affairs Ousmane Diakite. Al-Qathami and Diomande were informed about the progress of work at the Makkah Route Initiative lounge, and briefed on the efforts taken to facilitate and streamline the Hajj journey for pilgrims, including the efficient organization of airport services. The Ivorian officials commended the exceptional services provided by the initiative team to the pilgrims. The Makkah Route Initiative is one of the Ministry of Interior's projects, part of the Pilgrim Experience Program envisioned in Saudi Vision 2030. It entails streamlining travel procedures for pilgrims in their home countries, including issuing visas electronically, ensuring that pilgrims have a clean bill of health, completing travel procedures at the airports of departure, and coding and sorting the luggage based on transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom. Upon arrival, the pilgrims are offered transportation to their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah, and their luggage is delivered to them. Source: Saudi Press Agency
