AL says rejects German campaign of bullying against Palestine, its president

The Arab League General Secretariat expressed its rejection and surprise at what appeared to be a German campaign of bullying against Palestine and its President Mahmoud Abbas after his use of the term “Holocaust” to express Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.

A source at the Arab League General Secretariat denounced some German reactions to the matter, which he said had gone too far – in an unprecedented manner that has no convincing or rational justification – in demonizing Palestinians and underestimating their decades-long enormous suffering.

Such reactions are turning the victim into an offender and the offender (the Israeli occupation) into a victim, he noted.

Those parties did not heed the clarification statement issued by the Palestinian presidency in this regard, which casts shadow over their bad intentions towards the Palestinian cause and president, as well as towards the suffering of the heroic Palestinian people, he added.
