Al-baha: This year's Al-Baha Craftsmen Forum continues its activities into the fourth week, drawing sustained interest from visitors and beneficiaries since its launch. The event is organized by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) in Al-Baha Region, under the patronage of Al-Baha Region Governor Prince Dr. Hossam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, as part of the 2025 Saudi Year of Handicrafts initiatives.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the forum announced the opening of registration for two specialized training workshops set to begin next Sunday at the forum venue in Al-Dhafeer District. The workshops will run Sunday to Thursday during evening hours, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The first course focuses on the craft of soap making using natural aromatic oils. It aims to equip participants with the foundational skills to produce safe, natural handmade soaps, opening doors to creative small business opportunities.

The second course is dedicated to the weaving of the Jubbah Al-Baydiyyah, one of the oldest traditional textile crafts in the southern region. The workshop covers traditional hand-weaving techniques and the intricate embroidery methods that characterize this heritage garment, offering a modern approach to preserving cultural identity and reviving local traditions.

As part of the forum's programming, the Social Development Bank (SDB) is launching a 16-day morning workshop titled 'Designing and Producing Wooden Gifts,' which will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is tailored for women interested in acquiring practical skills to professionally craft wooden gift products, supporting economic empowerment and freelance career opportunities.

All training sessions are offered free of charge and supervised by a group of qualified trainers. Participants will receive official attendance certificates.
