Al-Baha: The Al-Baha Region, known for its environmental wealth, is currently witnessing a natural spectacle as the "Al-Adanah" tree blooms across several areas. This region, rich with a variety of wild aromatic, edible, and ornamental plants, displays numerous species of trees and shrubs, including the flourishing Al-Adanah tree. Recent rains have led to an impressive flowering season, with blossoms in hues of bright red, pink, and white, enhancing the natural beauty of the area's landscape.
According to Saudi Press Agency, local residents have noted that the Al-Adanah tree's natural growth amid rocky landscapes makes it a favored choice for rock garden designs. This tree, scientifically named Adenium obesum and locally referred to as the "Desert Rose" or "Al-Adanah," is known for its striking appearance and rarity.
Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ali Al-Zandi, a Professor of Plant Ecology and Director of the Forest Research Center at Al-Baha University, highlighted the tree's significance. He explained that it is a succulent plant primarily grown for ornamental purposes in the Kingdom, thriving both in the wild and as a cultivated plant.
