Air Force Secures Airspace Over Holy Sites During Hajj Season

Riyadh: The Royal Saudi Air Force is actively participating in the Hajj season as part of the Ministry of Defense's overarching plan, implemented in coordination with security and civil authorities, to ensure the security and safety of pilgrims and facilitate the smooth performance of rituals.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Air Force is utilizing its human and technical capabilities to secure the airspace over the Holy Sites. This involves precise operations such as airspace monitoring, air traffic management, reconnaissance missions, and providing logistical support to participating agencies.

The efforts include preparing air detachments with aircraft equipped with advanced surveillance systems to monitor air crossing. Technicians specializing in detecting hazardous materials are also involved as a precautionary measure to enhance public safety.

The Air Force operates under a detailed operational plan that includes continuous air sorties and aerial reconnaissance to identify emergency or suspicious situations. This plan entails coordination with security authorities to monitor screening points and crossings leading to the Holy Sites, thereby enhancing public security and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic.
